Bhubaneswar:- Odissi is a classical dance and music tradition prevalent in India and started from Odisha. The Government of India has listed Odissi dance as a classical dance and the Government of Odisha has listed Odissi music as a classical music. Odissi dance guru Smt. Puspita Mishra has once again become a national news at the national level for Odissi dance.
At an intimate event organized jointly by All India Dancers Association and Abhibhava Art Academy, Mumbai, renowned Odissi dance guru Smt. Pushpita Mishra has become a letter of appreciation by performing Ganesh Vandana and Shrikhandi through Odissi dance.
In this program organized in Mumbai, Guru Smt. Puspita Mishra first performed Ganesh Vandana through Odissi dance and then in the second phase she performed Shrikhandi through Odissi dance. Which attracted the audience present there a lot. At the last phase of the dance, the program was rocked by the applause of the audience.
At the end of the program, dance Guru Smt. Puspita Mishra was honored by the renowned artist Bharatanatyam and Kuchipudi dancer Dr. Ratheesh Babu.
Born in the historical temple city of Bhubaneswar, the capital of Odisha in 1971, Guru Puspita Mishra completed her post-graduate degree in sociology and completed her music mastery in Odissi dance conducted by the Ancient Arts Center under Chandigarh University. She is a disciple of dance Guru Pankaj Charan Das. Kalingayana Taryatakam, an Odissi dance institute in Bhubaneswar, was founded by Guru Smt. Puspita Mishra. She is a registered artist of ICCR and IRCEN, a trustee and official signatory of Sarvodaya International Trust, Odisha Chapter, a Senior Fellowship of the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, and a member of the Bhubaneswar Sangeet Circle.
